How do you guarantee that the irradiance reading hasn’t dropped significantly due to LED aging?
Every Elite Panel uses high-efficiency dual-chip LEDs. During renewal, we remeasure peak and average irradiance. If the unit delivers less than 90% of its original output or if wavelength accuracy shifts more than ±3 nm, the entire LED board is replaced, not just individual diodes. We don’t downgrade units with weak LEDs; we rebuild or recycle them.
Do renewed devices come with a warranty?
Absolutely. Kala Renewed devices include a 2-year limited warranty covering functionality and performance.
Are the LEDs replaced or just tested during the renewal process?
Each of the 12 multi-chip LED modules is tested individually for wavelength accuracy (630, 660, 830, 850 nm) and irradiance. If a module underperforms by more than 10% or shows wavelength drift beyond ±3 nm, we replace it entirely. The goal is to match the performance of a new unit as closely as possible.
How do you make sure the output doesn’t fluctuate as the battery drains?
We recalibrate the internal power regulation board on all renewed Minis. The device must maintain steady irradiance (±5%) from a full charge down to 20% battery. If output drops more than that during testing, the power board is replaced. We also log the irradiance curve for each unit to confirm stability.
